Home/Power/LED vs CFL

Have you ever wondered, precisely how much energy does an LED light source save, when compared to its contemporaries? Here are the calculations: One standard LED lamp lasts for 25,000 hours of light emission. It would take 3 CFLs or 25 incandescent bulbs to produce light for an equal amount of time. Even considering that LED manufacturing plants have a 50% yield rate, that is, only 50% of the LED lamps produced are sold and used, when the final calculations are done, these are the results: Energy needed for each of these units are: 1,500 kWh for incandescent bulbs, 320 kWh for the CFLs and 280 kWh for an LED lamp.
